Finding Hockey cards on the Internet

Check out my online hockey card collector resources at www.hockeyguy.com under Auctions and Events.  Here's some of the stuff you'll find:
Reviews of the top internet auction sites including E-bay, yahoo and Amazon, plus a few smaller ones that you might have over looked.
Search engines and the type of results your likely to get from each.
The large corporate sites including the card makers and

Beckett.com.  With reviews and the things you'll find on those sites.
Trader sites of a few dealers I've done regular business with over the years and what you'll find on there sites.
The top newsgroups and some tips on working in each one.
A list of other hockey resources, including ESPN, the NHL and the NHLPA.

Of course there are links to all the sites that will take you right there!
I'm always looking for reviews and submissions in these areas.  If you have something you would like to add please let me know and I'd be happy to include it.

Trading Tips on the internet:

Trading over the internet can be a little intimidating.  I've done hundreds if not thousands of trades here's some ideas on getting your trade done.

1.  Let people know exactly what your looking for in trade.  The more detailed you are in what your looking for the easier it is to get trades done.

2.  Let people know exactly

what you have to trade.  Have a detailed list or site with cards listed out individually.

3. Know your Beckett values.  Most cards get traded at high
beckett for high beckett.

4.  Send detailed and polite e-mails.  It lets people know your serious and reliable.

5.  Be realistic.  I can't stress this one enough.  Always turn

the trade around and ask if you would do it if you were in the other position.

My plans for the Upcoming Season

My show schedule should not change too much.  I should be doing a show once a month or once every other month until the Sharks season ends.  I liked the two table set up I tried at the Tri-Star show and will continue to use that for future shows.
My current inventory is approaching $35,000.  I've had

to move it out of my home for security reasons.  I'm not sure what growth to expect this season.  I've been opening 5-6 boxes of most new stuff and that should keep up so it's possible it could reach $40,000 by mid season.  I'm planning on stepping up my auctions a little this season to help with new box purchases.

I'll also continue to offer unopened product and complete sets.  PSA just raised their prices again and turn around is now at 3 months.  I might scale back in that area a little, but we'll see.
It should be an exciting year and I'm looking forward to it!
